Common questions
My scan was refused. Why?
The four usual reasons: the photo looks like a screen or a print, the car isn't in the catalog yet, the AI wasn't sure enough, or you already caught that car in the same spot in the last 24 hours. Try again from another angle, with the whole car in the frame and in good light.
Did a refused scan cost me a charge?
Once the AI has answered, yes, even when it refuses: every answer is a real identification call. If the photo never reached it (no signal, server unavailable, unreadable photo), nothing was charged, and the app tells you so.
The app picked the wrong car.
Tap Not this car on the result. You can pick another generation of the same model, keep the card anyway, or take another photo. If the right car isn't offered at all, email us the make, model and year so we can add it.
My garage is full.
The garage holds 100 cars and the workshop holds 100 parts. Open a card and delete the copies you don't race. The car stays in your Dex. Deleting is permanent, so there is no way to undo it.
The camera or location doesn't work.
Open the iPhone Settings app, scroll to StreetCaught and allow Camera. Location is optional: it only marks roughly where you caught a car on your capture map.
My friend's challenge code won't open.
Paste the whole code, from the first to the last character, in Friends → Join a game. Codes break if a messaging app cuts them or adds text. Sending the challenge as a file (Send with photos) avoids that problem.
When do quests, the shop and gauges reset?
Daily quests and the shop refresh at midnight UTC. Photo and fuel gauges fill back up to the top every 24 hours.
A car's rarity or production figure is wrong.
Tell us the car and, if you have one, a source for the real figure. Hand-checked cars use worldwide production. Estimated ones carry an EST. badge and stop at Rare.
Privacy and your data
Camera
Only used to scan cars, live. Photos from your library are never read. A reduced copy of the scan is sent to our identification service to recognize the car, and is not stored.
Location
Optional. It marks roughly where you caught a car, on your own capture map, and it stays on your phone.
